AzNameh

Manichaeism was a major world religion founded by the prophet Mani in third-century. It spread from Rome to China, synthesised elements of Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Gnostic traditions, and produced one of the most visually and philosophically sophisticated cosmological systems in human history. It was systematically suppressed by every major power it encountered. AzNameh has spent fifteen years in research with this tradition; AzNameh is the literary form that engagement takes. The world of the book is not loosely inspired by Manichaeism — it is built from within it, with the scholarly rigour and creative freedom that only deep familiarity allows, of course we did not retell what the actual cosmology is, we changed and extend it to form a new world based on it.
